Filming Day 1

Today, me and Kallum went to the goals at Bexleyheath to film his younger brother who plays the role of a younger Jack in the title sequence. We decided that this was the perfect place because it had small and big goals. We decided that Kallums little brother (Josh) should shoot at the smaller goals and when we film Jack, he shoots at the big goals to show the audience that he has improved over time.

We only managed to get here at 5 in the evening which was an issue because of the time the sun would set. We initially wanted to film Josh when the sun was out so that when we film Jack, it would be in the dark. This is mainly because we wanted to show the audience that he is older and the time of day would tell this. Regardless of these factors, me and Kallum decided to film anyway just to get an idea of what it would look like, and to have some sort of footage I could edit. Another problem that we faced is that there were no small pitches available so we had to film the big goals. Me and Kallum took the responsibility of deciding that it would not be used in the sequence but I would still edit it to get an idea.

When we first started filming we had a lighting problem. We didn't realise that the camera was on manual focus so the images we were getting were very dark.

However after realising this, Kallum as the cinematographer changed the setting to auto lighting. This made a huge impact on the images we were receiving, making it much brighter and clearer. As you can see there is a clear difference between the two shots, this helped us so that the next time we film we know exactly what setting the camera should be in.

After looking at the footages as a team, we decided that not a lot of our clips in our title sequence will be from these scenes but we feel like it will tell a good story in the sequence. Jack also put forward the idea that we could take a close up shot of Josh and him dribbling and transition them together.
